I think I was a southerner all my life, I just didn't know it. Growing up in Washington, DC, I never figured I would find myself smack in the middle of South Carolina, on a couple of acres raising my family. But here I am, enjoying every moment of my new farmish life.
Along the way, I fell in love with Jesus, and the rest was history. Now, I would be lying if I said the road has been all sunshine and roses. Choosing to follow Christ is one of the hardest adventures I have ever embarked on. There are days I feel like queen of the world, days I question all my choices, and days where life feels like one huge failure. Despite the roller coaster that life often brings, I can always rest assure that Christ is along for the ride every step of the way. I do my best each day to just show up as Me. I allow His joy and peace to be my center, and I want to help other women understand that a life rooted in Christ can lead them to do the same.
The journey hasn't been easy, but oh how it has been worth it.
Does spending time with the kids count? Well, I never met a craft project that I didn't like. When I don't have my glue gun in hand, you can find me outside with my chickens, daydreaming about firearms or dancing around my house getting my worship on.
Really, my most favorite thing in the world is my family. Next to that, what I enjoy most is loving on others. From my family, to random folks at the store, I believe there are few things a good hug and some prayer won't cure.
